"In a lab, when a scientist was creating Utatane, he failed, creating Kurotane instead. He was so frustrated at his fail that he threw Kurotane in the streets harshly. After being thrown in the streets, Kurotane woke up and looked through the window; saw the scientist making Utatane and made the connection to find out that he was a failure. He decided to find out who he is, then find Utatane, destroy him, and replace his white-clad remake."

Kuro has long put his over the top jealousy of Utatane behind him. While they are not close, Kuro has become rather protective of Piko, defending him from afar. It is a situation of 'only I'm allowed to mess with him'. While not 'violent' in the sense of 'I will beat the shit out of you', he does rough house a bit with his friends.
He is what is known as 'that one friend who bullies you out of love'. He's not sure where boundaries are when it comes to what hurts feelings and what doesn't. When called out as being an asshole, he acts tough and tells you to 'get over it' as a way to deal with the sudden guilt that aches inside him.
Kuro's still working on setting his pride aside and owning up to his actions.
Unlike his counterpart, Kurotane doesn't feel the need to try and make himself live up to others' standards. That ship sailed long ago when he was tossed out by Ki/oon. Now he does what he wants, when he wants, and he doesn't care about what others think of him. Which is why he hasn't bothered to correct anyone when it comes to calling him 'Piko's dark side' or 'edgy'.
He simply is just Kuro.
His own person with his own agenda.
A bit of a loner considering that he's easily frustrated with other people. He's not a very good playmate, but that's to be expected from this stubborn shit.

☠ Kuro is a bit of a loner because of his inability to sympathize with others. If he thinks you're stupid for feeling a certain way or doing something despite it making sense to you, that will never change.
☠ At first he seems like a complete jackass, but if he decides that he likes you, he'll chill out and actually show you other sides of his personality.
☠ He's better built compared to Utatane. The reason being is because Ki/oon took their time with him. He was built with better parts, coded better; built to last. It was his abrasive personality and lack of respect for authority that got him tossed aside. The decision being so last minute is the reason behind my Piko's poor craftmanship that lead to his struggles today.
☠ Kuro's favourite genre of music is rock 'n roll and alternative metal. however, his playlist is very diverse because he's always looking for new tunes to enjoy.
☠ Kuro plays guitar and bass. Using his acoustic, he likes to cover some of his favourite songs.
☠ He doesn't understand the hype behind relationships. The thought of having someone emotionally dependent on him isn't a concept he thinks he could embrace easily.
☠ That being said, the physical side of things is something he understands a lot better and experiences often. [Kissing, sex, physical attraction.] He's the type to get sudden little crushes on people he finds attractive, but he never acts on them nor do they last long.
☠ Unlike my Utatane, he does have control over his USB tail.
